The electric guitar is a simple musical instrument but when placed in the hands of an accomplished musician it could reach out to you as if it has a magical hand that could go deep into the center of the labyrinth of your heart and touch your soul. At least that's the way I see it. Some people don't see it that way. I remember one very late night many years ago, I laid in bed listening to the strains of the sound of a distant neighbor's radio. I could barely hear the voice of the singer and the sound of other instruments but I could distinctly hear the sound of the guitar, a clean tone floating in the air, wafted into my open window and into my ears by a gentle breeze. The song was Dire Strait's Sultans of Swing. The guitar playing of Mark Knopfler was as powerful as the lyrics. It was only then that I understood fully the meaning of that song.

The above image is the result of a couple of hours of fiddling with Adobe Photoshop. Yes, it took me long two hours to finish it. This image comes from two photos I got from the net shown below.

very basic lang yan, matatawa ka kung ipakita ko sa iyo paano tirahin yan, sasabihin mo na "Ay ganun lang pala yan"

If i have more time in my hands i would be able to post one or two new images a day.

I don't know anything about Photoshop tricks.

One suggestion that I kept on thinking here is to "illustrate" through words how we could do that same effect. I think this will keep you getting more readers. I'm sure people will inquire how you did it.

    Just a thought.

Of course, just the simple but seemingly difficult effects will do for each blog post. You can keep the more difficult creations a "trade secret", but still something to share to the readers.

I am thinking about that, i am even thinking about doing tutorials about how to do stuff like this but it takes a lot of time, with all the screen shots every step you make and explanations that accompany the screen shots.

Anyway I only used the Lasso tool to make this effect, just cut every little bit off the guitar and drag them towards the image of the hand.(Tip: to switch quickly between the Lasso tool and the Move tool the Ctrl key is handy). Of course each of the elements must be in a different layer. I played with blending options and opacity of some of the layers to make the bits of the guitar seem to merge with the hand. It is really very basic.

Anyways, i'll make the effort to make a video of the things I do here, it is possible with Adobe Captivate so that it would be easier to understand :)

Oh! Okay that explains it... Video tutorial pwede siguro.

If I happen to find how other blogs do their tutorial easily then it may help you adapt the same pattern. :-)

Actually I have done one tutorial, it's deep within the archive of my Technotechniques blog, it is a Photoshop tutorial, a simple masking technique. I changed the plain white shirt of my little son in the picture with something that is printed. I also did another tutorial about making a rollover effect in flash. It is also in Technotechniques blog. Mahaba kasi pag tutorial, may image every step tapos may explanation. I actually started Technotechniques as a How to and Tutorial blog but I realized that it would take me a long time to fill it with posts so i shifted to tech news and stuff :)

    I agree with Gem

one good video tutorial is better than tons of reading literatures

and of course that's where I started learning PHP and MySQL

you don't need to type, you just have to demonstrate it...

and i think most googlers (haha... coined the term) like video tutorials because that's easier to understand...

you know, learning is easier with a visual aid as many people learn fast with visual and hearing clues...

Myself included, i learn fast with visuals... 'cause I have photographic memory (joke lang) hehe

Okay, the next picture would be accompanied with video tutorials he he he pero malaki trabaho yun, okay lang enjoy naman.

When I do things like the pictures shown here I start without any plans on what to do then I experiment until I get to a point where ideas come. That would be the time to really work on the image.
